All About Maggie Day!

Three months ago Maggie turned eight and as part of her gift we told her she could get her ears pierced. We figured it would be a good idea to wait until summer break to get them done. We could just see the kids in her class wanting to see them and touch them. She has that problem with her glasses and didn't think it would be a big leap for them to play with her ears.

Summer break is finally here and today was the day!! She and I headed out to the mall. I had a surprise for her to go along with her ear piercing. She has been begging for a few months now to have her hair cut short like mine. So that was our first stop.

Our next stop...Claire's Boutique! Maggie chose her birthstone earrings which are a pretty purple.

After a short minute to digest what had just happened it was time for the second ear...

After Claire's we stopped at the food court for a little lunch and then over to Mandi's to pick up Zoe and Wyatt. Mandi took our picture to commemorate our fun day!

I love you Maggie Moo! It is fun for me to see you so excited about the simple pleasures!

Memorial Day

I wish we could have visited all our family that has passed, but since many of them are not buried locally we weren't able to do that. We did get to visit my Mom's parents and my niece.

Working on securing the flowers so they don't blow over... Next stop, Provo Cemetery to visit Tanya. I still get teary when I think about Tanya. I wonder what her life would be like if she were still with us. I imagine how beautiful her children would be. My heart still aches when I think about how much I miss her!I wanted to recognize those members of our family that have and are currently serving in the military to protect us and keep us safe. I don't have pictures of everyone, but here are just a few.

Glenn's brother, Brent, and my cousin, Jake, have both been deployed twice. They have spent so much time away from their families so that we can have our freedom and feel safe. Thanks just doesn't quite cover it!

Brent, Devon and Riley Jake, Megan, Nathan and OliviaMy Mom's uncle, Hans Torgerson, lost his life in WWIII am so grateful for those that have more courage than I do. Thank you for putting your lives on the line for me and my family.

Maggie helped me make the "Thank You" tin for Mrs. Masters. We filled it with Jolly Ranchers and Starbursts. I ran over to school one day at lunch and had all the kids in her class sign a note to put in the tin.
We gave the Principal and the office staff the Rootbeers that say "north stars are AWesome", we made a special one just for the teacher...Thank you for such a great year Mrs. Masters! Maggie has made such huge improvements this year and we know you have helped her so much.Watch out second grade...here comes MAGGIE!!

NOOOOOO!

A tear rolled down my cheek as I opened the curtain this morning...
Since we had such a lovely night with Zoe I didn't want to wake her up to make the trek to school this morning. Luckily Lindsey was willing to pick Maggie up. I cannot believe that I had to send her to school in snow boots on the 24th of May. This is just wrong!!
A little note to the man in charge:

Our Weekend

Since Glenn had a scout camp out this weekend I took the kids to Mom and Dad's. The main reason for our escape was to get Maggie some help with her song she is writing for her school talent show. I made a desperate call the Tanaya asking if she and her Mom could help get it all together. On our way to see them we had the opportunity to go to lunch with Mom, Dad, Starr, Landon, Camille, Ladd, Dan and "Miss Daisy" on Saturday. It was Dan's birthday so we were glad to have the chance to see him and celebrate his birthday. "Miss Daisy" is a lady that Dan helps get places. He has said that the only job he has been able to get is driving Miss Daisy. Her name is really Jan and she was super nice. Wyatt loved her and kept smiling at her all through lunch.

This super "momarazzi" ended up losing her camera for a few days so I missed getting pictures of the lunch and of Maggie working on her song. Thank you Aunt Cheryl for helping Maggie and getting as much done as you did. I hope she can do really well during her talent show. We'll be so anxious for Friday to get here!

Sunday morning Mom turned on the "Music and the Spoken Word" so we could hear pretty music and messages about Jesus Christ. Wyatt was totally mesmerized! After we got home and spent a few minutes with Glenn we decided to go get some dinner. It was our anniversary after all! We got to have a yummy dinner at Don Pedro's and then went to get some doughnuts at Wal Mart. This awesome truck was in the parking lot...
The girls were apparently still a little hungry...
These were our "Happy-Anniversary-I-Love-You" doughnuts! They were delicious.
HOWEVER, they were not quite as appealing at 12:30 this morning while being washed out of Zoe's hair! Her pillow looked like a crime scene you would see on CSI. YUCK!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, GLENN!

Dear Aunt Kristie

I thought you might like to see some of my more recent pictures. My Mom gets a little lazy and forgetful sometimes so she hasn't done an update on me for a while. I just had to take matters into my own hands and get the job done!

Maggie loves to take pictures of me almost as much as Mom does. She likes to use props though. Here she has put her duck "Puddles" next to me. He was pretty funny and I couldn't stop talking to him and laughing at him.
This was taken at the end of a very long day at Grandma Brown's house. I really love chewing on my fingers and scratching my head. Even in my sleep!
I learned how to sit up in my chair. I loved playing with the toy, but for some reason I can't stop drooling! My clothes get so wet and yucky. Mom has to keep bibs on me or she ends up having to change my clothes a few times a day.
I know it's kind of hard to tell in this picture, but I have really pretty blue eyes. Everyone talks about how pretty they are. Whatever!
Mom put me in the chair again. Apparently it's kind of a big deal that I can sit up sort of by myself. I didn't like it so much this time. I got really tired and cranky!

We party pretty hard when we got to Grandma's house. This was after her birthday lunch with all my Mom's aunts, uncles, cousins and siblings. Well, not all of them, but it seemed like it. I was just too tired to care about my toy.
My cousin Kinley let me borrow her bouncy chair thing when I was at her house one day. It was awesome! I loved all the toys and tried so hard to get them, but my arms are just a bit too short.
Mom keeps trying really hard to get me to smile for the camera. I don't cooperate very well. I'm a bit shy!

I hope you have enjoyed seeing all the pictures of me. Are you ready to come see me yet? I can't wait to meet you, Uncle Brent, Devon, Riley, Jake and Hannah. Every now and then I catch Mom reading your blog and she looks kind of sad. I think she misses you A LOT! It makes her sad that she can't see you and watch your kids grow up like she did before. Are you ready to visit us yet? :)

It's Been a Long Time

Since we don't have a Lowe's near us we haven't been able to participate in the Build and Grow workshops. While we were at Mom and Dad's last weekend I picked up their Lowe's magazine and saw that there was a workshop scheduled for Saturday. I didn't actually decide to go until the last minute, but the girls really enjoyed working on their planters and were even more excited to give them to me the next day.

They look so cute in their goggles. It always cracks me up to see them with huge eyes and scrunched up cheeks.

A super fun day and you just can't beat a free Mother's Day gift!!
