Can I Have a Re-count?

I'm not sure how it happened, but our little Maggie Moo has turned 8!
The years have gone by so fast. I'm afraid to blink. I may miss the next eight years.
3 years
4 years
5 years
6 years
7 years
Even though I have enjoyed watching Maggie learn and grow over the years I still want her to stop growing up. I want the birthdays to stop and just freeze time. I know that's not going to happen so for now I will try my best to enjoy the rest of her childhood.
Maggie has been so excited about turning 8.
She's excited about being baptized.
She's excited about getting her ears pierced.
She's just all around excited about being older.
Again I say...STOP!

Daddy's Hands

I remember Daddy's hands
Folded silently in prayer
And reaching out to hold me
When I had a nightmare
You could read quite a story
In the callouses and lines
Years of work and worry
Had left their mark behind

I remember Daddy's hands
How they held my Mama tight
And patted my back
For something done right
There are things that I´ve forgotten
That I loved about the man
But I'll always remember
The love in Daddy's hands

Daddy's hands
Were soft and kind when I was cryin'
Daddy's hands
Were hard as steel when I'd done wrong
Daddy's hands
Weren't always gentle
But I've come to understand
There was always love in Daddy's hands

I remember Daddy's hands
Working 'til they bled
Sacrificed unselfishly
Just to keep us all fed
If I could do things over
I'd live my life again
And never take for granted
The love in Daddy's hands

Daddy's hands
Were soft and kind when I was cryin'
Daddy's hands
Were hard as steel when I'd done wrong
Daddy's hands
Weren't always gentle
But I've come to understand
There was always love in Daddy's hands

Daddy's hands
Were soft and kind when I was cryin'
Daddy's hands
Were hard as steel when I'd done wrong
Daddy's hands
Weren't always gentle
But I've come to understand
There was always love .....
In Daddy's hands

Sad, but Cute

Wyatt started sounding congested and raspy so I took him to the pediatrician. We now have all three kids on the nebulizer! Fun times over here!! (I stopped at my OB's office to get a picture of her with Wyatt since we didn't get a good one of her at the hospital. Thank you Dr. Evans for all the months of care you gave me and for helping get our little man here.)

Maggie is fine with it. She doesn't complain at all. She makes sure the strap is on her head and she sits and plays her Nintendo DS.
Zoe was terrified the first time, but we had her chose a movie to watch and sat with her the whole time. Now she just keeps saying "think it's done!". She had a pretty good melt down over it the other day, but usually she just keeps telling us it's done.Wyatt doesn't seem to care much about it.Mom is going crazy. Trying to keep up with all three nebulizer schedules, Wyatt's acid reflux medicine and his antibiotics. I have had to take the nebulizer to school twice for Maggie. The second time her teacher called me back and asked me to come get her because she was coughing so much and was so uncomfortable. I didn't get that message until I was pulling in the parking lot to pick her up AFTER school. The very next day I got another call. It was Maggie telling me she couldn't stop coughing AGAIN! I had to pick her up early. It was Friday the 12th and her class was having it's Valentine's Day party. She came home with candy so I guess she didn't miss much of the party.

I think everyone is finally getting better. Glenn even got the crud for a while. Which is a very rare occurance. He just doesn't get sick. He lost his voice for almost a week, but has it back now and seems just fine. Thank heaven for Doctors and medicines that help us get well.

WARNING!

This is what will happen to you if you hold Wyatt...

His sleepiness is contagious!
Who's next?

A Few Pictures

Here are a few pictures to hold people (Kristie) over until I can do some real posting. I'm getting so far behind I'm not sure if I'll ever catch up. Here you go for now...

We tried to get a cute picture of Wyatt in a pretty box, but he didn't seem to think it was too much fun. So I tried again at home. Much better attitude, but our lighting is so bad they really didn't turn out as hoped. AND...he was in the midst of a nasty case of baby acne.

Of course Miss Diva had to cut in on the action! She loves Wyatt to death and just has to be close to him all the time. It's very cute, but gets to be too much at times. He gets a little cranky with two girls up in his space all the time.

Wyatt has been quite the spitter and he grunts all the time because of his acid reflux. I have called him poor little guy a few times and Zoe has picked up on it. Only she calls him "piddle guy". It took me a while to figure out what she was saying and then it took me even longer to stop laughing.

Do You Think She Was Tired?

Almost Got It!!

I don't usually have the camera in hand when Wyatt decides to smile, but he finally cooperated and smiled for the girls and I was somewhat prepared. I just caught the end of it. Never fear...I will be trying again, and again, and again until I get it right!!

Zoe's 1st

HAIRCUT

These pictures are from the day before the big event. Our Elder's Quorum had a chili cook-off last night and I thought it would be fun to be a little valentine-ish. It's hard to tell, but the braids make a heart. They kind of show how long her hair was. And the second shows her cute curls.

I have wanted to cut her hair for a while now, but haven't had the nerve. When we got Maggie's cut for the first time they totally chopped all her curls off. She was much younger, but I'm still cranky about it so it has taken me this long to get Zoe's done.

She was a little nervous in the beginning. Her face in the first picture is her trying to be brave while not knowing what to expect. She got over it pretty quick and had a good time chatting with the stylist. She followed her directions and was done before she knew it. Before we all left Zoe got to take a tip over to her stylist like a big girl. She was a very proud little girl for being able to be brave during her haircut and then to be able to tip her stylist.

She acts like a teenager instead of a little girl that is about to be three!

Slacker

I know I have been a total blogging slacker lately. It's difficult to find the time to sit down and blog these days. Wyatt is not the greatest sleeper around and then there's the fact that I just don't want to put him down! I love my little man and just want to hold him close all the time. Will I ever get past that? Will I actually want to be baby free sometime?

But seriously, who wouldn't want to cuddle with this all day?

Happy Grandparents Day!

All this week Maggie's school is celebrating Grandparents.
Today was the first grades chance to have lunch with their Grandparents.
I didn't think Mom and Dad would really be able to make the quick trip up, but when Maggie called to invite them they said yes!
Maggie was beyond excited and we were all happy they would have the time to visit us.

Grandma, Zoe, Caley, Maggie, Jocelyn, Me & Dad

Before they left Mom wanted to get some pictures of Wyatt on the quilt she made him. She also found a quilt that Grandma Maggie had made and gave it to Wyatt. Mom's is the blue sailor quilt and Grandma Brown's is the brown deer quilt.

Wyatt doesn't like having his picture taken...

Saying goodbye to Grandma!

I Will Now Claim My Title

as Worst Mother EVER!!
I kept Maggie home from school today because she has been congested and coughing and sounds horrible.
I have an appointment for both girls with the pediatrician this afternoon.
Zoe did something worthy of a time out a little while ago.
I put her in time out.
And then I forgot I put her in time out.
SEVERAL minutes later I was thinking how quite Zoe was being considering Maggie was out here on the couch and Zoe was in the bedroom by herself.
Then the light bulb went off.
Out loud I asked myself "is Zoe still in time out?"
Maggie answered: "yes"
I went to let her out and this is what I found...

Not only did I leave her in there too long, in order for her to get to the time out seat she had to climb over a mountain of dirty clothes to get there.

That's right folks...

WORST MOTHER EVER!!
