Pizza Factory

Every time we go to Provo the girls ask to have dinner at the Pizza Factory. I figured Zoe would enjoy having her birthday dinner there. I was so right. She loved it. They even made her a pizza in the shape of three for her birthday. It was lots of fun. Thanks to everyone who came with us to celebrate our Zoe's girls big day!

I made this skirt for Zoe's birthday this Friday. I still have to aplique a cupcake on a shirt and then the outfit will be complete. It is so cute and she is BEGGING to wear it now! She calls it her "cake skirt".

Happy Birthday DAD!!

Unfortunately Dad did not make it to Chuck-A-Rama, but he did get released later that day. I took Wyatt back to the hospital for another suction job and got to visit with Dad again before he was released.
In anticipation of his release Mom and I worked on his cake. I bought this cupcake pan for Zoe's cake, but we thought Dad wouldn't mind being our test run. It was kind of hard to ice since it just wanted to run off the top. I think it's cute, but still needs work.
74 YEARS!!
Dad tried to convince us all that we got the numbers backwards so he switched them, made his wish and blew them out!
Happy Birthday, Dad! We love you bunches. We are so grateful for all you do for us and the great example you are to us!

Birthday Boy

Happy Birthday Dad!

Papa Bear's Surgery

Dad had his right shoulder replaced today. I guess for quite some time now he has been having lots of pain in his shoulder. They discovered that his bones were rubbing on each other. YUCK!
We came down to celebrate Dad's birthday with him. He is determined to be home in time to join everyone at Chuck-A-Rama tomorrow. I think he's crazy, but I know he's super tough so I'm sure we'll see him there!

Glenn and I took Wyatt to the hospital to have his nose sucked out before visiting Dad. The girls got to stay home with Grandma so they missed seeing Grandpa in the hospital.

We love you Dad and hope you heal quickly and can get back to doing all you want, and need, to do!

Here's an interesting side note: 25 years ago today I remember walking in the door after school and seeing Mom standing at the counter looking out the window with a look of despair on her face. First clue something was wrong - She was just standing. Mom doesn't just stand around. She's always busy. Second clue - she was stuck by the phone. Again she doesn't just hang around. Especially by the phone. I remember feeling so sad and scared when I walked in the house that day. Something was very wrong, but Mom didn't even have all the details yet. That's why she didn't want to walk away from the phone.

Dad had been working at Hill Air Force base and had been in an accident. When all the information came together it turned out that Dad had fallen off the roof of a building. He was sitting in the hospital waiting for someone to sign forms so he could be treated. It turned out that he had broken both legs, his right (I think) elbow and shattered his left wrist. He spent his birthday in the hospital that year too.

Dear Dad,

If you don't want to celebrate your birthday just tell us! You don't have to spend it in the hospital any more.

We love you,
Your Family

(I know I have a picture of him from that first accident, but I can not find it right now. I will post it if I ever get it located!)

Disney's Greatest Hits

I must say, I was not looking forward to Maggie's school program today. Last year was a yawn fest. So very boring. I had a glimmer of hope for this year since the first graders were singing lots of Disney songs and wearing Mickey ears. It was pretty cute and Maggie had lots of fun. She was excited, but pretty nervous since she actually had lines this year, but she did a great job. She got an extra bonus and had to say her friends lines as well since she was home sick.
She's in there somewhere...
Saying her lines...
Celebration ice cream after school...

Since her program was on St. Patrick's day she didn't get to wear green to school. That was sad. At least she didn't get pinched!

Glenn worked with Maggie on her lines and together they got them memorized. Maggie did such a great job at making sure she said every word clearly so everyone could understand her. Glenn showed her a trick he learned in a speech class. If you can put a pencil in your mouth and say your lines clearly around the pencil then you are ready! It worked!!

Genius is as...

genius does!
I know there is true genius out there somewhere, but we didn't see any of it today. We didn't even see common sense. I'm not sure why the driver of this rig thought they could make that tight turn around with a double trailer, but apparently they thought they could.

Then the "rescue" team showed them up by pulling the second tanker trailer into the cab of the truck. It was quite the show!

It was a sad day for butch women everywhere as the drivers of both trucks were women!!
