The Rest of Our Weekend

Our plans for Sunday changed a bit from our original plan. We were going to attend church meetings with Mom and Dad, have lunch with them and then head to West Point to hang out with some friends for a few hours. Glenn got a call saying that his Sister-in-law had been taken to the Ogden hospital for emergency heart surgery. Then I got a call from my cousin, Tanaya, letting me know that her Dad was told that he probably only had a couple more weeks before the cancer he has been battling would take his life.

We decided to forgo church so we could get packed up and head up to Layton to visit Uncle Murr and then head over to Ogden to visit Bob & Shirley and Lisha.

The kids really enjoy being at Uncle Murr and Aunt Cheryl's house. They have fun things to play with and new things to get into. It was nice to see Uncle Murr and get to visit for a few minutes. We love you Uncle Murr and hope you don't have to be in pain these last few days.
Since Shirley was still in the ICU the kids were not allowed to visit with her and we were only allowed to see her for 10 minutes. We left the kids with Aunt Lisha while we went to the ICU. We were worried that Wyatt would have a hard time and be a problem for Lisha. We were oh so wrong. Aunt Lisha just put him a sleeper hold and got to hold him the whole time.
I was thinking that Aunt Shirley would not be too happy with me if I took pictures of her so I fought the urge and left the camera in the lobby. She seemed to be doing pretty well considering all the crap she went through. Just a couple days later and she was out of the ICU and on her way home. We hope you are able to relax and recover quickly Aunt Shirley!
So that is the sum of our fun, exciting and emotionally intense weekend!
There was some pretty intense activity between the visit with Uncle Murr and the trip to the hospital, but I need to clear it with Glenn before I share that story. We are all well and no animals were harmed in that adventure!

Maggie's 9!

We had a great birthday weekend!

We decided that since we were going to get into Provo pretty late that we would meet who ever wanted to go at Los Hermanos restaurant for dinner. Mom, Dad, Mandi and her girls and Camille all met us there for some yummy food. All the waiters made it special for Maggie when they sang to her and gave her some ice cream. The night was topped off by a fun sleepover with at Grandma's with Sadie and Camille.

Saturday morning we had an appointment for the girls birthday pictures, but before that Grandma made Maggie's favorite breakfast for her. Delicious pancakes!
After pictures we ran some errands then spent some time at Mandi's watching her girls while she went to show a house. Maggie and Zoe love playing with Sadie and Kinley.

So our, almost, last stop on the birthday train was a trip to Pirate Island for games and dinner. Wyatt needed some extra energy so he took over Dad's monster drink to get him through the party.
Here she goes! Literally ripping into her gifts.
Mandi and the girls nailed it with a Liv doll cabin. She loves it!
I had been planning to get the girls a Lalaloopsy doll so when a commercial came on for them I asked Maggie if she would like one. Her response was less then overwhelming so I wasn't sure she was going to appreciate the fact that I had already gotten her one. Turns out she loves it! Yeah!!
Thanks for the book Lindy! She always need new reading material.
Wyatt is such a picky eater that we worry about him quite a bit. One of the only things he has shown interest in is pizza. He loved all the yumminess and of course all the lights and noise were right up his alley. Such a boy!!
Sadie and Kinley enjoying their dinner choice. Kinley kept stealing french fries from Sadie so she had to keep moving her food away. Funny girls!!
The always entertaining...and very goofy, Mandi nibbling on her calzone.
Maggie dove into her pizza while Zoe shows Landon her fancy nails.
Grandpa, Grandma, Starr and Camille enjoying the fun.
Glenn, Lindy, Ava and Cooper are all happy party guests.
ALL the kids hoovered around the balloon pirate waiting their turn to get a fun animal.
Zoe was a big help to Grandma while she made the cake. She's an awesome supervisor and only had to taste test the icing a few times.
Grandma knocked it out of the park again with this awesome pirate cake!
Maggie,
You are such an amazing young lady! You have such spunk and attitude, but you also have so much love for your family and friends. You love school, your teacher and learning about EVERYTHING! I have really enjoyed being your Activity Days leader and watching you learn about what it means to be a kind and compassionate woman. Your goal lately has been to speak more kindly to Zoe. You have to be reminded once in a while, but you are understanding that if you treat her kindly you have so much more fun with each other. She love you so much and wants to be like you. Wyatt absolutely adores you and lights up when you walk in the room. You have such a big responsibility being a big sister and you are doing a great job!
I am so very blessed and eternally grateful that our Heavenly Father sent you to our family. I love you so much and enjoy being your Mom!

It's a Girl Thing

I came across some blogs on how to do little girls hair. I have done some experimenting on Zoe. She usually doesn't like me to do much with her hair, but she has been a good model the last couple of days. I just have to ask her if she wants a fancy barbie hair do and she's all mine!!
First we tried the "loopy messy bun" I found at shedoeshair.blogspot.comThese cute "piggy bows" were on girlydohairstyles.com. Here daughter must have much thicker hair than Zoe because her bows looked much better and fuller. It still turned out pretty cute and Zoe loved them. This "uder bun" was also from girlydohairstyles.com.My goofy girl and I have been having fun the last few days.

How Did You Spend Valentines?

We had a super fun Valentine's Day (she says sarcastically!)

Maggie had another follow up eye appointment so we spent our day driving and waiting. Maggie had the flu and Zoe was starting to cough and run a fever so we had them masked the whole time which made even more fun for them.Zoe found a ball in the waiting area and a teenage boy that was willing to play catch with her. She kept him busy the whole time we waited. He was so nice and didn't try to shoo her away. He just kept catching and throwing the ball. After the appointment we ran a few errands and then decided to have a nice Valentine's dinner at Chili's. It's nice to have a few options when we go into the "big city"!Wyatt was thrilled with the corn on a stick!!

Our Presidents Day Was a Ball

We made a trip to Park City to hit the outlet mall to get the girls new outfits for their birthday's. We decided to make a day of it and get in some bowling...

I am a much better wii bowler!

After bowling we ALL got haircuts. They gave the kids balloons. The kids loved them. Mom and Dad hated them.

We all had a great day and were so tired on our way home. We love family time!

Groceries

At the end of a very frustrating trip to the grocery store full of "stop touching everything", "stay with me", "don't do that", "where are you?" we get to the register and Zoe is gone. When I turned around I saw the top of her head by the scanner. I got after her and told her to come away from there, but the ultra nice cashier man over ruled me and put her to work. Then of course Maggie ran around to help. He may be sorry he did that when they take over his job every time we go now.
It was all too much for Wyatt. He crashed on the way out of the parking lot!
Dear Mr. Flu Bug,
Please get out of my children and vacate our home!!
Maggie needs to be able to stay in school.
Zoe needs to stop coughing on us.
Wyatt needs to be able to breath.
Thanks!

We Are Sick & Tired

of being sick and tired

You know it's bad when this monkey crashes in the middle of the living room!

I've been sad lately that I haven't been able to get many pictures of Maggie since she's in school all the time. When she's home on the weekends we are usually busy and not doing anything fun so I don't get the camera out.

I noticed too that in my Activity Day pictures I have missed getting shots of Maggie working on her projects. Way to go Mom!

The school called me Thursday afternoon to tell me that Maggie was sick and needed to come home. Luckily for her I had the car that day and was able to run down and get her. So the one day that she is home and I have the opportunity to get some pictures this is what I get...
So needless to say she stayed home Friday. When she started throwing up and running a higher fever I figured I had better get her to the Doctor. Several people in our ward and in her class have had strep throat. Luckily the strep test was negative, but unfortunately the flu test was possitive. She has been running a fever, coughing and saying her throat hurts. We have been trying so hard to keep her away from everyone and make sure she covers her mouth, but the little man still got sick.

He started running a fever last night and has been a sad droopy looking little boy all day.

I hate seeing my kids so sick. They look so pathetic, but I can't do anything to help them. I hope it passes quickly and doesn't get the rest of us.

Sleep tight my little sickies!!

The Pinkest Baby Shower

When Lindsey told me she was expecting again I started planning her shower right away. No, I didn't know what it was for sure but I just had a feeling it was a girl. It HAD to be a girl! After having four boys she really needs a little girl in her house. So even though I didn't know for sure she was having a girl I was going ahead with the pinkest shower ever theme! Luckily I was right and she is having a girl!!

I loaded my pictures in the wrong order so we'll get through this post backwards. This is what was happening at home while I was at the shower...

Wyatt was getting into cabinets while Dad was playing on the computer. Glenn and Mike actually did a great job of watching the kids AND keeping them happy while playing games.

Here are the guests that were part of the shower...
Grandma Diana (Lindsey's Mom), Grandma Bowen (Lindsey's Mother-in-Law), Kara

Nicole, Annie, Gwen, Annie Carie, Melissa, Mardi, Jacie, Alyssa

Jacie, Alyssa, Lisa, Cathy
Guest of honor, Lindsey and her helper Addie

Decorations made by Annie Carie, Nicole, Ruth and Me

We all had such a great time and we are so anxious for little Leanna to get here. Lindsey has waited so long to have a princess to hold!

*I cannot figure out what is going on with this post! This is not the layout I wanted, but I can't change it.
