What Adorable Spookables I Have

We had a hard time this year deciding what to be for Halloween. Maggie has been watching The Wizard of Oz and Hoodwinked lately and she wanted to be a character from one of those movies. We finally chose Dorothy. What sparked the final decision? Sparkling Ruby Red Slippers! No little girl can resist a sparkly shoe! Once we made sure Maggie wanted to be Dorothy we were struggling with Zoe's costume. She was either going to be a flying monkey or Glinda the good witch. I had wanted to be the bad witch, but with the move being so close to Halloween I had to put my focus on packing instead of making myself a costume. Since there wasn't going to be a bad witch the flying monkey was out. To tell you the truth I really wanted Glenn to be the flying monkey, but he wasn't having any of that. We are all looking forward to our ward Trunk-or-Treat this Saturday. Maggie's school is having their Fall Festival on Halloween, but we are not sure yet if we will be leaving that night or the next morning so the girl's may not be able to wear their costumes on Halloween. At least they will get to wear them at least once. Maggie is beside herself and asks almost everyday if she can wear her red shoes. I'm sure her teacher would love that!
The photographer forgot to take Zoe by herself so we will be making another trip to the mall to get her picture.

18 MONTHS

Our cute little Zoe baby is almost 19 months and I am just now getting her 18 month pictures. She's growing up too fast!

How Silly

How completely silly is it to be grateful for Macaroni and Cheese? I am so glad that Burger King has added Mac & Cheese to their menu. Finally something other than chicken nuggets. They also have apple fries which are a big hit with the Tomlinson kids.

Maggie's Race for the Cure

On October 4th Maggie went with Grandma on the Susan G. Komen walk. They forgot to take a camera so there aren't any pictures of the actual walk, but when I took her to McDonald's for lunch I managed to get a picture of her face paint. Apparently, at the end of the walk a woman was standing in the crowd just painting people as they walked by. She has done the walk a couple of other times and she loves the medal's she gets when she finishes. I'm very proud of her for doing the walk. We like to support the foundation since Sharon is a breast cancer survivor and we know that research is important to help other women survive as well.
We got some new fingernail polishes yesterday at Wal-Mart and of course Maggie was about to die from anticipation of having her nails painted. When she got them all done and I was working on Zoe's she said "Mom, you're the best nail painter in the whole white world!" I don't know about that, but it is pretty fun to be able to do these things with my girl's.

Here is Maggie's fabulous manicure (with pink polish of course)

Zoe's gorgeous nails with the same polish as Maggie's. I'm not sure how the polish managed to disappear from her one finger. It's totally clean, not even a speck!

Tonight after we said prayers and were giving our goodnight kisses Maggie said that I don't have wet kisses and she never wipes mine off. Zoe had given her a very slobbery kiss just before me. Then when Glenn was taking her to her room he told me that Maggie has told him that I have a very soft kiss. Thank you Maggie, I love you sugar booger!
Maggie wore her patch for several hours today and then when she was trying to do a dot-to-dot she got frustrated because she couldn't see it very well with only one eye. After a few minutes of whining she said that it was OK. She was used to the patch now. I'm sure she won't remember that tomorrow when it's time to put on another one.

On our way home from school I was reminding her about our after school rules. Bathroom, wash up, snack, homework, patch. I let her watch Noggin while she was eating, and sharing her snack with Zoe. Shortly after snacks were done and before homework there was a little "problem". Zoe tackled Maggie and grabbed her glasses. During the tackle and grab she managed to hit Maggie's mouth and knock out her loose tooth. Too funny! At first Maggie wasn't sure if she should laugh or cry. Then she started thanking Zoe and hugging her for knocking it out. She really does not like the whole tooth pulling process. The whole situation was just too funny!
Just before bed she decided that she wanted to write Mrs. Cain and letter because she loves her. This is what she wrote:

Pretty Funny Kind of Creepy

I finally got to work on these pictures that I took while in Utah. I want to get a whole bunch more and add them to the collage, but for now can you tell who is who?

Bring on the Headaches

Maggie had another follow up eye appointment on Thursday. Things are not going well. Or at least as well as the doctor would like them to be going. He said there is still not much improvement in her left eye. We have been putting the drops in her right eye to blur it, but her left eye is just not improving. So I have to give her the drops before school, she patches her eye for recess, then patch it again after she gets home until she goes to bed and then all day Saturday and Sunday. Yeah right! This would be where the headaches come in. From listening to all the screaming and whining about having to wear the patch. I understand that it is uncomfortable and I can see how it would give her headaches, but we have to do it. I have to keep telling myself, Glenn and Maggie that we JUST HAVE TO DO IT! The doctor gave us some really cool patches with designs on them, but the novelty of that only lasted about 20 minutes.

Random Shots and Painful Shots

I just came across these pictures and thought they were blog worthy. I used to do this to Maggie's hair too, but I don't think I ever got a picture of it. It always makes Maggie laugh and when I would do it to her she had to run to the mirror and look at herself. She looks like a deer in the headlights. Especially with her antlers!

This happened one day that Maggie didn't have school. They were finally playing so nicely together and it was quite so I figured they were probably in Maggie's room. A few minutes later Zoe came into our TV room laughing and so I looked up and this is what greeted me. Maggie had put her in some premie baby clothes that they use for their baby dolls. I think someone might be a redneck!
***********************************************
Zoe had her 18 month check up on Thursday. She missed her 15 month check since we were in Utah when she should have had that done so instead of getting one shot she got two. One in each leg. Maggie had early dismisall that day due to Parent-Teacher conferences so she got to go with us. She was very sympathetic about the shots and tried really hard to make Zoe feel better. She is the best big sister ever...well most of the time!

Zoe is 50th percentile for height and 10th percentile for weight. The doctor said she is a healty skinny. To me she doesn't even look all that skinny. Maggie at that age seemed much smaller.

Although I have gotten after her many times and even the doctors have told her not to Maggie can not leave the rolling doctors chair alone. At least she has passed the stage of wanting to stand on them. My OB got after her about that one day.

This was after shots. She really doesn't cry all that often so this was very sad and just about made me cry. She cried so hard she was doing the hard sob sniff thing.

Luckily big sister was there with lots of hugs and words of encouragement. Maggie has had her fair share of shots and know how horrible they are. Thank heaven for sisterly love and compassion!!

She cried herself to sleep.
